Eligibility and Compatibility

Proclaim is designed for adults with teeth that aren't moving, accommodating various dental conditions like sensitive gums, dentures, and dental implants, with consideration for dexterity issues.

How old do I have to be to use the Proclaim System?

Proclaim is for the majority of people with adult teeth that aren't moving, meaning no orthodontic treatment in progress or jaws/teeth still developing. It is not age dependent.

Can Proclaim be used if I have sensitive gums, dentures, braces, permanent retainers, or implants?

Braces & Permanent Retainers

Lingual bars are no problem, but those in active orthodontia will need to wait until the completion of their treatment before having a custom mouthpiece created.

Sensitive Gums

Sensitive gums could be a sign of inflammation, meaning there may be plaque buildup on the teeth or below the gumline. The Proclaim system, in combination with brushing, is designed to effectively and quickly clean those areas to reduce gum inflammation, gum bleeding, and plaque accumulation. Proclaim also includes a water pressure dial so you can start using Proclaim at a lower pressure that is comfortable for you, and slowly build up to the maximum pressure. If you experience extreme sensitivity during your normal oral care routine we recommend you check with your dental professional about what might be causing your sensitivity, and about using Proclaim.

Dentures

Yes, people with partial dentures can use Proclaim. Just make sure to remove anything removable for your scan and when using Proclaim.

Note: Patients should remove any removable appliances before scanning and when using Proclaim, and Proclaim does not clean underneath fixed appliances.

Dental Implants

Yes, people with dental implants can use our Proclaim system. However, if you have "all on 4" permanent implants, Proclaim will not work for you.

Note: Proclaim will not replace any special cleaning that your dentist has recommended for under your implant or permanent bridge.

Can Proclaim be used if I have dexterity issues?

Using Proclaim generally requires less dexterity than flossing, but people with severe dexterity issues may find some aspects of using our product challenging.

Can I use Proclaim during my Invisalign treatment?

We recommend that those in active orthodontia (Invisalign) wait until the completion of their treatment before getting a 3D intraoral scan and having a custom mouthpiece created.
